No mastery of words can craft in correct depiction the distraught that plagues me. My faith has never been one of great strength, and yet now I feel it has all but escaped me.What God could allow for this type of misery? What goodness is there in the destruction of millions that would inspire a being of divine holiness and power to meddle with the passions of man and incite them against one another. Today I lost my brother, my friend, my anchor on this earth. What justice is there in his loss? What blessing of our endeavors have you met with this sorrow? I mean no blasphemy, yet I cannot hope but desire that your face is not one that I shall see. Unless you have answers, spare me agony of a corrupt heaven and let me fade into darkness.
