Today Is the Day is an American experimental band from Nashville, Tennessee. Their diverse sound has incorporated influences from hardcore punk, extreme metal, and avant-garde noise music, among other genres. Many of the band's recordings display an extensive use of dissonance and sampling as well as psychedelic features. Lyrical themes include violence, altered states of consciousness, personal struggles, depression, warfare, drug abuse and mental problems such as psychosis, derealization and paranoia.
