- Embassy of Silence is a Finnish, progressive rock / metal band. The band was founded in 2007 by Tero Kalliomäki (guitar) and Ines Lukkanen (song).
History
Lukkanen visited Kalliomäki's second band, Sautaja's album, where the idea of an orchestral rock band was born. The band's strengths include Lukkanen's versatile singing style and the strong compositions of Kalliomäki. The first composition also affected Samu Lahtinen (bass) and Harri Lampinen (guitar). In the first release in 2008, 'Wendigo Winter' drums were played by Teemu Laitinen. In the same year, another release was made of 'Pristine' -ep, and at the same time the composition of the band was confirmed by drummer Mikael Ahlsten and guitarist Harri Lampinen. Both albums were recorded at Klaukkala in D-Studio under the direction of Jarno Hänninen.
The first full-length album, 'Euphorialight', was released in 2010 via the Swedish Supernova. The record was re-recorded in D-Studio, mastering Björn Engelmann's Cutting room in Sweden. Before the band was drummer Jaakko Hauru, and another guitarist Harri Lampinen left the composition. The second album 'Antler Velvet' was released in 2012 via the UK's Ravenheart Records. At the time of the album, another guitarist Jarno Suodenjoki was established, and during the album recording, the band became a regular drummer, Make Lievonen, even though Jaakko Hauru played drums on that album.
The third album 'Verisimilitude' was released in 2015 through Inverse Records. The album was recorded with the exception of Teron's 'KillHill' studio and mixed with D-Studio. Keyboard player Harri Koskela froze out of the composition before the recordings; Tero Kalliomäki, Jarno Hänninen and Juha Eskola.
The band has made a Czech tour and played in Estonia. Aapo Romu, a cellist, has often visited the band's recordings and gigs.
There are four official music videos on the band; Passion and Savagery, Unconverted, Straight up Crazy Amazon, and Shame, Spin and Click directed by Anne Rajala.
