- My Silent Wake is a British death-doom band from North Somerset, England.
Biography
My Silent Wake was formed in 2005 in North Somerset, England3. The roots of the group are traced during the separation of Ashen Mortality after eleven years of existence4. It includes singer Ian Arkley (Seventh Angel, Ashen Mortality) 1.
At the end of 2005, the group signed its first distribution contract with the label Bombworks Records1. They plan to release an album in 2006, including six or seven songs in addition to two songs from their homonymous EP published in 20051. Their first album, entitled Shadow of Sorrow, is released on schedule. Recorded in four days, the album includes a cover by Rex Zachary (Opeth) 2. In February 2007, My Silent Wake completes a new double-album which will be, according to the terms of the group, 'massive' 2.
My Silent Wake performs and publishes a split with the Swiss group Pylon, entitled Empyrean Rose published in 2013. It includes a total of 11 songs, five new and unpublished My Silent Wake and six new Pylon5. Their fifth album, Silent Under Midnight, is released in June 2013 via Bombworks Records4. In December 2013, the group announces it is looking for a label5. In February 2014, My Silent Wake announces its signature on the Italian label House of Ashes. They announce before the arrival of the drummer Gareth Arlett (Amputated) and a meeting with Kate Hamilton who now endorses the keyboards6. In May 2014, Mike Hitchen returns as second guitarist, and Kate makes a new break7. In June 2014 released their seventh album ambient and experimental oriented Eye of the Needle which includes seven songs4
In May 2015, they released their eighth and new album, Damnatio Memoriae8,9,10. In December 2016, My Silent Wake is announced for January 2017 for a series of European dates presented the Desert Rose Agency. The band will be accompanied by A Sickness Unto Death11.
