SUNRISE AVENUE, the pop-rock-phenomenon from Helsinki, Finland released their debut album 'On The Way To Wonderland' in 2006, and with just one album under their belt, they have achieved more than your average band would during a whole career. 'On The Way To Wonderland' has sold more than 400.000 albums and 800.000 singles. The album reached platinum sales in Finland and in Germany and gold sales in Austria, Switzerland and Greece.
From an album filled with hits - 「Fairytale Gone Bad」 and Forever Yours」 topped the radio and single charts all over Europe leaving no pop/rock lover cold. 「Fairytale Gone Bad」 was selected as the official theme song (ZDF) of Tour De France 2006 and 「Choose To Be Me」 was the theme song of the German Big Brother in 2008. SUNRISE AVENUE have played the biggest European festivals (including Rock am Ring main stage at 2007 together with Korn, Smashing Pumpinks, Muse etc) and traveled 3 sold-out European tours of their own. Receiving two Finnish Grammies and other prizes such as European Border Breakers Award, Impala Award, 4 NRJ Music Awards, Radio Regenbogen Award and the ESKA Award, SUNRISE AVENUE are literally 'on their way to wonderland', to be crowned as one of the most successful newcomer bands in Europe.
Now the guys are back with their second album, POPGASM, extremely catchy pop/rock tunes, that will have you hooked - in a good way that is.

Yeah, we might have taken more time than planned, but now listening to the album - I'm happy we did. POPGASM was mainly produced in Finland by Jukka Backlund, who also produced Sunrise Avenue's debut album 'On The Way To Wonderland'. Two tracks were produced by the Swedish Macho Psycho team who have previously worked with the likes of Pink, Natalie Imbruglia and Sting.
SUNRISE AVENUE is known for their catchy Pop/Rock sound, and for being the relaxed and funny guys they are. They don't just perform music from their hearts - but they do it with a smile (and occasional smirk from singer Samu) on their face.
SUNRISE AVENUE will release their new album, POPGASM, in May-June 2009 (Europe and Japan) followed by numerous festival shows all over the continents. SUNRISE AVENUE will go on their 4th European Tour late 2009.
