惊惧之泪（英语：Tears for Fears）是一个英国乐团，80年代曾经红遍全球。成员为Roland Orzabal及Curt Smith，共同来自英格兰一个小城市Bath。他们的曲风受到传声头像乐队、Peter Gabriel的影响，偏向新浪潮（new wave），但后来转趋流行，一般将他们归类为流行摇滚（pop rock）。


历史
创团/颠峰( 1981–1990)

在成立Tears for Fears之前，Orzabal与Smith曾都是Graduate乐团的成员。两人在1981年另起炉灶，发行了两支单曲， Suffer the Children 及 Pale Shelter，但并不十分成功，直到1982年第三首单曲 Mad World，才创下英国排行榜第三名的佳绩。1983年第一张专辑 The Hurting是一张概念专辑，描述Orzabal的悲苦童年，获得市场的肯定，逐渐为他们打开国际市场知名度。

1984年他们持续推出单曲 Mother talk 及 Shout，为1985年发行的第二张专辑 Songs from the Big Chair 铺下坦途。这张专辑在全世界极受欢迎，收录的歌曲还包括排行榜冠军曲 Everybody Wants to Rule the World 及 Head over Heels。由于专辑的成功，Tears for Fears成为一个国际知名的乐团。

单飞期(1991–2000)

尽管乐团的知名度越来越高，但Orazbal在制作音乐时的吹毛求疵和繁复过程，而Smith则希望放慢脚步，两人渐行渐远，导致1991年两人正式拆伙。1992年精选辑 Tears Roll Down (Greatest Hits 82-92) 发行。

Smith单飞后，搬到美国纽约市寻求发展，1993年出了一张成绩不佳的个人专辑 Soul on Borad。之后他组成了Mayfield乐团，以现场演唱为主，并在1997年发行同名专辑。

而Orzabal则继续以Tears for Fears的名义继续演唱事业。1993年发行的 Elemental 专辑，包含一支排行榜歌曲 Break it Down Again。这张专辑销量并不差，但远不及前两张专辑的盛况。1995年的专辑 Raoul and the Kings of Spain 的成绩又更走下坡。1996年发行的 Saturnine Martial & Lunatic，则是一张收录了Tears for Fears82-93年单曲唱片B面歌曲的合辑。

2001年，Orzabal以自己的名字发行了一张个人专辑 Tomcats Screaming Outside，内容受到好评但销售量并不理想。
复合期(2000–)

2000年，在Orzabal与Smith拆伙十年后，透过经纪人的牵线，两人决定重新携手合作。2004年他们发行了 Everybody Loves a Happy Ending 专辑，Closest Thing to Heaven 成为十年来第一支排行榜歌曲。

2006年他们发行了一张演唱会专辑 Secret World – Live in Paris。Smith也在2007年再度发行个人专辑 Halfway, Pleased。

2010年，Tears for Fears举办全球巡回演唱，在包括香港及台湾等地演出。
