A mix of Folktronica/Downtempo makes Our Shame, a Taiwan-based Duo, one of the uprising bands of the millennium. After the break-out success of “Richard” on Mandarin Indie Music Site, StreetVoice, bandmates Estelle H(vocals/guitar/producer) and Isan(percussion) started to work on their debut EP, Good Things Happen(2019).
The record honors the sublime emotions of human being through rattling beats, contemporary instruments, and crystal clear acoustic guitar sound. Our Shame creates melodic, evocative soundscapes that comfort souls of all sorts, bringing out the one and only message, “Good Things Happen”.
「一切好事都會發生」是一則咒語。是對挫折的浪漫安撫。
以 Folktronica 貫穿，雜糅 ambient、downtempo，甚至受到 hip hop 影響的雜食二人組－凹與山，團名取用主唱小凹和鼓手 Isan 兩人綽號的諧音。首張作品由小凹宅錄自幹，包辦詞曲編、電子聲響製作。混音由日籍金獎音樂人 AKNIT （Toshiya Fueoka，魏如萱、Mondialito、鹿比∞吠陀）操刀，捕捉幽微音色。
音樂人是被作品推著前進的。自高中熱音社便相識的小凹和 Isan，大學時期以邊緣人的姿態，窩在房間寫歌。雖然曾在 2015 年拿下大專院校重要獎項－金韶獎創作組冠軍，畢業後卻成為追趕捷運的上班族。在 2018 年，突然以乘著引擎轟鳴和療癒旋律的單曲《理查》，在獨立音樂平台 StreetVoice 火速累積 30 萬播放次數，盤踞排行榜。在眾生敲碗下，催生了《一切好事都會發生》。 整張 EP 以「通道」概念貫穿，經過無聊日常與人世磨損，終於抵達好事。
