Album Intro:

Straight from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dane Schmidt is a one-man acoustic band, fronting and running Jamestown Story. In 2003, the band was formerly known as And Then I Turned Seven, which Schmidt changed to its current moniker in January of 2007. Coming a long way since 2003, Jamestown Story has independently released Love Vs. Life on November 18th, 2008.

Having entered the studio in the summer of 2008, Jamestown Story delivers a heartfelt album, supported by Schmidt』s earnest lyrics and soft guitar and piano accompaniment. This nine-track disc is abundant with pure chill tunes for those days and nights when you really want to sit back and relax, or just want some plain good acoustic songs to listen to. Anyone can take pleasure in the peacefulness of Schmidt』s voice, especially in the tracks 「Futile Road」 and 「Whenever You Need」.

Overall, Love Vs. Life is a fine effort by Jamestown Story. It really goes to show that over-producing isn』t always necessary for an album to sound good. The tracks are a sincere portrayal of what Jamestown Story was surely gunning for: honest feelings of love and guilt built within sweet songs. The band is currently on tour and will be continuing in 2009.
