歷史
在蝗蟲創始成員賈斯汀·皮爾遜和迪倫·沙爾夫之前，在硬核朋克樂隊奮斗在一起，形成於1990年底。樂隊只持續了三年。儘管如此，他們還是有機會與其他重要的樂隊分享音樂空間，有著類似的意識形態觀點，比如Born Against，Downcast，Bikini Kill和Econochrist。樂隊於1994年解散。

2010年5月18日，Locust發布了2001年9年前“Peel Session”的檔案錄音，簡稱為“Peel Sessions”，通過Radio Surgery發布。這首16首歌曲是Gabe Serbian第一次為The Locust打鼓，最後確定了Bobby Bray，Joey Karam，Justin Pearson和Gabe Serbian的陣容。
2012年7月31日，The Locust通過ANTI發行了一張精選專輯“The Gold Standard Labs”。這張專輯包含了所有在1997年至2002年期間發行的黃金標準實驗室標籤上的材料。
