With his tickle-in-the-throat voice, singer Josh Grier serves as the catalyst on relentless rockers like 'Demon Apple' and 'Hang Them All,' and the dark ballad 'Lines.' The band finds its collective stride on the poppier 'Conquest' and the eighties-tinted 'George Michael,' both of which recall the exploratory musicianship of their acclaimed debut, The Loon, and challenge the notion that most bands go through a sophomore slump.
