Floating Manatees

Departure

0:00 - 1:25
(The first of the ships meant to discover other multiverses makes its final preparations to leave for its first multiverse visit. Char, as an engineer aboard the ship, ensures that the binary matter, which makes up the ship's core components, is fully ready for use)

CAPTAIN:Bridge to engineering, what's our status for departure? Over.

CHAR: Engineering to bridge, binary matter is sedimentary, all systems operational. Over.

(The binary matter is set and all systems are operational according to Char.)

CAPTAIN: Bridge to engineering, we are initializing the rift core now. Over.

CAPTAIN: Rift core initialized. Over.

(The Rift Core, a not so fully understood piece of technology which relies on the principle of When-The-Engineers-Who-Built-It-Were-Asked-How-It-Works-They-Shrugged-Confusedly. It rips open the 'bubble' which surrounds all multiverses and allows the ship to jump through the bubble to a parallel aligned multiverse. It is now prepped for the ship to make the jump to another multiverse)

CAPTAIN: Alright crew. Buckle your seatbelts, keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times, 'cause here we go.

1: 26 - 3: 34
(The ship makes its first jump to another parallel multiverse. It's a very disorienting experience, and most of the crew is thrown off, numb, and senseless for quite some time. Then, abruptly, light and sound come upon the crew members, and they see another multiverse open up before their very eyes. They are completely astounded at first, but slowly they start to realize that this parallel multiverse is almost identical to their own in every possible detail. Yet no matter, they instantly begin to converse with their own selves from this parallel multiverse.)

A world.
Opens before my eyes,
Same with starless skies,
Of Home,

Everything's the same,
and nothing's seemed to change,

Reflections,
in everyone we meet,

It's getting hard to keep,
track, of who is who,
and where,
They're from.

(Char notices two details of this multiverse: first off there is no version of her here, which she finds somewhat confusing as well as concerning. Yet almost as if to take her place, there is a strange man whom nobody seems to notice, staring at her. He does not seem to mirror anyone from her universe, which is equally unnerving. Undaunted, however, she decides to approach him.)

There's a man over there,
Who's giving me a stare,
No-one pays him heed,
I wonder what he needs?

3: 35- 4: 58
(The strange man starts screaming with an eerily foreboding tone, warning Char of incredibly vague events to come.)

Prepare;
For your world to fall apart;
You'll lose your mind,
And have a change of heart;

Prepare;
To lose sight of what you want;
You think you know what's there;
Your fears are sure to daunt;

Prepare;

(The strange man vanishes into the air with a strange laugh and a tear in the 'bubble' of the multiverse is left where he once stood. The laugh reverberates through the air, but soon it takes on a different voice, and Char knows that there is another presence here).
