Stay awhile says the Shadow, for there are games to be played and names to be named. All are equal and damned in these eyes. What are these words except characters in a play, each one singing its part to a blind audience who hears only what it wants to. If these thoughts lead to madness then they are all sane for not one thought shall pass with shadow here as guide. Not one single thought as to what's really inside.
Vanity is to blame, and if not then for shame, this pride and this folly are entwined. Hearken to madness, it's really to blame, this retched disease of the mind. As Shadow says, it's only a game, and its either cruel or kind. But Shadow is wrong. He serves to play tricks while the blind try to see, a hopeless task he says to me.
To feel the play is to be the play. How can you say you've never lived? I say goodbye to Shadow, he knows no more how to feel than how to live. Madness is key. Blind, once I had fallen, and blinded, now I can see. Blinded, I've risen, and blinded, I'm free
