- Golden Dawn是由StefanTraunmüller於1992年成立的一個奧地利樂隊，原本是一個黑人金屬項目，最終引起了兩位頗有影響力的奧地利金屬家Pazuzu的Ray Wells和Pungent Stench和Hollenthon的Martin Schirenc的關注。到一個彙編外觀，並最終與黑暗物質記錄錄音合同。
Traunmüller錄製了他的首張專輯“The Art of Dreaming”，同時還是一個單人樂隊，但是在Abigor和Martin Schirenc的Thomas Tannenberger的幫助下。
然而，黑暗物質很快就折疊了。直到七年後，現在由四名成員組成的樂隊，與Napalm唱片公司錄製了下一張專輯“Masquerade”。
2012年1月，新專輯Return To Provenance在Non Serviam Records上發行。
