潘特拉是來自德克薩斯州阿靈頓的美國重金屬樂隊。該小組由阿博特兄弟 - 鼓手Vinnie Paul和吉他手Dimebag Darrell以及主唱Terry Glaze於1981年組成。貝司手雷克斯布朗在第二年加入樂隊，取代了非官方原創的湯米·布拉德福德。作為一個魅力金屬樂隊，Pantera在20世紀80年代發行了四張專輯。尋找新的和更沉重的聲音，Pantera用Phil Anselmo在1986年底取代了Glaze，並在1988年發布了Power Metal。憑藉其第五張專輯，1990年來自地獄的Cowboys，Pantera引入了溝槽金屬音色。 Pantera的第六張專輯，1992年的粗俗電力顯示器，表現出更沉重的聲音。 Far Beyond Driven（1994）在Billboard 200上首次亮相。
