瑞典新晉獨立歌手 Lykke Li , 並不算美, 但就有一種獨特氣質, 吸引著筆者. 她出生於藝術世家, 父親是音樂人, 母親是攝影師, 自五歲起己經學習芭蕾舞, 之後幾年間上過電視當過舞蹈員, 如此背景, 難怪舉手投足之間都散發著藝術表演者的氣質. 現年 22 歲的 Lykke Li , 從小開始已經志向遠大, 不甘心只當一個不起眼的舞蹈員。
從小啓發她的是 Madonna 。 她第一張擁有的盒帶, 就是 Madonna 的『Immaculate Collection』, 小時候還試著模仿她的表演姿態, Lykke Li 欣賞她從無到有, 敢於夢想的態度, 即使自己不是天才橫溢。 所以 Lykke Li 19 歲便隻身去到紐約, 追逐她的理想。 但音樂上, 她並沒有受 Madonna 的流行元素的影響, 而是傾向欣賞 Velvet Underground ( 60 年代的另類音樂祖師)等的獨立搖滾精神。
Lykke Li 的曲風多變 Hip-hop, folk, old-school blues 等等都可以找到, 而且還用上不同的奇特樂器, 如小型鋼琴, 玩具笛子, 電子鍵琴等, 音樂的層次和厚度都儘量造得很簡約清澈, 而很少會聽到飽滿充盈的力量感, 但旋律卻繞富趣味, 有時不經意滲出來的童真和暖意, 沖淡了整體偏向冷調的疏離。當然不得不提 Lykke Li 的獨特聲線, 是一種很嬌滴滴 (加上一些假音), 同時帶點神經質的唱腔，Lykke Li 也是近代少數能夠以令人耳目一新的復古曲風而在 Myspace 上成功吸引到部落客們注意的 indie pop 歌手。憑著迷濛縹緲的聲音特質加上來自同鄉的 Bjorn Yttling 的支持 ( Bjorn Yttling 為 Peter Bjorn and John 樂團中的一員)，2007 便在自己的廠牌 LL Recordings 下發行首張 EP『Little Bit』。同名單曲「Little Bit」繼續贏得了廣大 indie pop 部落客們的喜愛，並藉由大家的推薦迅速流傳，就連主流樂評也爭相報導。很快的，Lykke Li 便受邀在瑞典 MTV 演唱，就在同時，「Little Bit」音樂錄影帶也被瑞典葛萊美獎提名最佳錄影帶獎項。
