唐納德·理查·麥克林（Don McLean，本名Donald Richard McLean，1945年10月2日－）是美國籍的創作歌手，他的代表作包括長達八分鐘的《American Pie》（美國派）以及膾炙人口的《文森特》。

「我是個歌手，就這麼簡單 ─ 唱歌，找歌，寫歌，錄歌。糟糕的是，最近大家的焦點都放在音樂錄影帶上，而非歌曲本身。在這個領域裡面，音樂的價值被貶低了。當然，棒棒糖也縮水了，政治人物也變笨了，什麼地方都看得到代用品。不久以後，人們也不知道自己聽的根本不是真材實料的音樂。」

　不過Don McLean可是貨真價實；對他而言，音樂尚未死去。他在全世界贏得十二張金唱片單曲、專輯則有二十五張金唱片、十張白金唱片，舉行過十次世界巡迴演唱會，擁有一大堆經常被人翻唱的名曲，即使如此，一聊起自己的音樂，他仍然充滿熱情。

　1971年發行的American Pie專輯，在美國專輯榜的冠軍寶座停留了七週，並在英國專輯榜停留了一年多。American Pie是1970年代最著名也最讓人耳熟能詳的兩首歌曲之一，這首歌在美國單曲榜的冠軍位置停留了一個多月，並打入英國單曲榜前三名，被視為流行音樂的重要里程碑。當然這首歌在2000年由瑪丹娜翻唱時，同樣地再度成為世界各國的暢銷曲。

　Don McLean被全世界的人尊崇為流行音樂的資深政治家，他廣大的歌迷總是熱切地期待他的國際巡迴演唱，而如今他也不再是拒絕演唱American Pie。或許當最後一期Life雜誌在封面寫上斗大的American Pie，McLean才明白這首歌是一首意義多麼重大的作品。但這絕不是McLean唯一的經典暢銷曲，向畫家梵谷致敬的Vincent、靈感來自電影明星Fred Astaire的Wonderful Baby及分別翻唱自Buddy Holly、Roy Orbison的經典曲Everyday與Crying等16首歌曲都是20世紀人類流行樂史的不朽金曲。
