Too tired to sleep after a long day's work at the Augusta Heritage Arts Workshop, my weary fellow teachers and I holed up in an old farm-house and wrote this song.

Holly Near has always been one of my favourite singers. Women`s musick, as it was when I knew it (mid-1980`s) often told stories that I, a gay male teenager in Texas, could relate. I found very few male singers to listen, but the female singers were plentiful. And for that, I will always be grateful.
