When Switchblade Symphony rose from the gothic sub-culture of their San Francisco haunts in the early 90s, no one could have predicted their impact on the underground music world. WIth a sound that was truly fresh, unique and powerful in a genre crowded by many derivative Sisters Of Mercy clones and Bauhaus imitators, their songs shot sparks out of club speakers and lured shadow dancers to the floor en masse. As the buzz grew, so did their record sales. This little project became a massive force.
Gathering a solid touring band behind them, the seductively twisted glitter dolls Susan & Tina set about to spread their cutting edge, industrio-classical glamour around the world. Opening for the likes of Gary Numan and Sisters Of Mercy as well as headlining many venues filled with their growing legions of supporters Switchblade was onto something new and they were exciting many darkwave fans out of their daze along the way.
